    Doug Flutie is a former American professional football player who is best known for his outstanding college and professional football career.     Childhood of Doug Flutie

    Doug Flutie was born in Manchester, Maryland on October 23, 1962. His father was a football coach, so Flutie grew up around the sport. He was an excellent athlete from a young age, playing baseball, basketball, and football. Flutie was a standout quarterback at Natick High School in Massachusetts. He set numerous records and led his team to an undefeated season in 1979.

    College Football Career of Doug Flutie

    Flutie went on to play college football at Boston College. He quickly established himself as one of the best quarterbacks in the country, leading the Eagles to a Cotton Bowl victory in 1984. That season, he won the Heisman Trophy, becoming the first player from a non-power conference school to do so. Flutie finished his college career with 11,318 passing yards, which remains an NCAA record.

    Professional Football Career of Doug Flutie

    Flutie began his professional career in the United States Football League (USFL). He then joined the NFL’s Chicago Bears in 1986. Flutie spent most of his NFL career with the Buffalo Bills, where he led the team to the playoffs in 1998. He was named the NFL’s Comeback Player of the Year in 1998. Flutie went on to play for the San Diego Chargers, New England Patriots, and Toronto Argonauts before retiring from football in 2006.

    Doug Flutie is one of the most accomplished quarterbacks in college and professional football history. His impressive career has earned him numerous honors and awards, including an induction into the College Football Hall of Fame. He is remembered as one of the greatest players of his generation and will go down in history as a football legend.
