    Chris Samuels is a former American football offensive tackle who played in the National Football League (NFL) for the Washington Redskins and the Philadelphia Eagles. He was a six-time Pro Bowl selection and a three-time All-Pro. Samuels was inducted into the Alabama Sports Hall of Fame in 2013.

    Early Life

    Chris Samuels was born on July 28, 1977 in Mobile, Alabama. He attended Shaw High School in Mobile, where he was an All-State selection in football and basketball. Samuels was also recruited by numerous colleges, but ultimately chose to attend the University of Alabama.

    College Career

    At the University of Alabama, Samuels was a four-year starter at left tackle for the Crimson Tide. During his college career, he was named All-SEC three times and was a consensus All-American twice. He was also a finalist for the Outland Trophy and the Lombardi Award. Samuels was inducted into the Alabama Sports Hall of Fame in 2013.

    NFL Career

    Samuels was drafted third overall in the 2000 NFL draft by the Washington Redskins. He played 10 seasons with the Redskins, where he was selected for the Pro Bowl six times and was a three-time All-Pro selection. Samuels was also part of the Redskins’ 2005 playoff team. In 2010, he signed with the Philadelphia Eagles, but was forced to retire due to a neck injury.

    Throughout his career, Chris Samuels was one of the most consistent and dependable offensive linemen in the NFL. He was a six-time Pro Bowl selection and a three-time All-Pro. Samuels was inducted into the Alabama Sports Hall of Fame in 2013, and his legacy will live on for many years to come.
