Roger Daltrey is an English singer, songwriter, and actor, best known as the founder and lead singer of the iconic British rock band The Who. Early Life
Roger Daltrey was born in London, England, in 1944. He grew up in a working-class family and attended Acton County Grammar School. He left school at the age of 15 and worked in a sheet-metal factory.
Musical Career
In 1964, Daltrey formed the band The Who with guitarist Pete Townshend, bassist John Entwistle, and drummer Keith Moon. The band soon rose to fame and released their debut album My Generation in 1965. They released several more albums, including Tommy (1969) and Quadrophenia (1973). The band broke up in 1983 but reunited for a series of concerts in 1989.
