Polish spirits manufacturer Dictador has taken a leap into the future by appointing a robot powered by AI to formally lead the company.

The Polish spirits company Dictador is best known for the rum they produce.

    Now that might change.

Dictador has appointed a robot, powered by AI and called “Mika,” as the CEO of the company.

“Dictador’s board decision is revolutionary and bold at the same time,” said Dictador’s chairman Marek Szoldrowski in a statement.

“This first human-like robot, with AI, in a corporate structure, will change the world as we know it forever.”

    Human decisions before AI

However, the crucial decisions will still rest with an entirely human leadership.

Initially, Mika will focus on selecting which employees will design the company’s products in the future.

“My decision-making process is based on extensive data analysis and alignment with the company’s strategic goals,” said Mika, “interviewed” by Reuters.

“The process lacks personal biases, ensuring impartial and strategic choices that prioritize the organization’s best interests,” they said.

    AI has no profit requirements

Furthermore, the fact that Mika happily works 24/7 without demanding any share of the profits or stock options hardly makes matters worse, according to Fortune.

Even though, of course, this is a PR stunt, the business world expects that generative AI will be used in more and more decision-making in the coming years.

In a recent report by McKinsey, they estimate that AI could add $2.6 to $4.4 trillion to the global economy by 2040. And according to Gadgetadvisor.com the projections for the generative AI market size by 2030 to 2032 range from USD 103.74 billion to USD 200.73 billion.

    Does it work?

The fact that AI in the form of robots like Mika already works as a PR stunt is a bonus.

Because it does work. You did, in fact, read all the way here.
