Early Life
Christopher Cross was born Christopher Charles Geppert in San Antonio, Texas, on May 3, 1951. He was the son of a successful local businessman and an opera-singing mother. As a child, he was exposed to a variety of musical styles, including classical, jazz, and folk. He began playing the guitar at an early age and was soon performing in local bands.
