Teez Tabor is an American football cornerback who currently plays for the San Francisco 49ers. He was drafted by the Detroit Lions in the second round of the 2017 NFL Draft. Early Years
Teez Tabor was born in Washington D.C. on November 24, 1995, and attended Friendship Collegiate Academy. He was a three-star recruit and was ranked as the No. 14 cornerback in the class of 2014. He committed to the University of Florida, becoming the school’s highest ranked recruit in the class.
At Florida, Tabor played in all 13 games as a freshman and was named to the Freshman All-SEC team. He was the team’s starting cornerback for the next two seasons and was named first-team All-SEC in 2016. He declared for the NFL Draft after his junior season.
College Career
At the 2017 NFL Combine, Tabor ran a 4.62 40-yard dash, which was the second-fastest among all cornerbacks. He was drafted in the second round of the 2017 NFL Draft by the Detroit Lions.
Tabor played in 15 games for the Lions as a rookie, recording one interception and 28 tackles. He appeared in 12 games in 2018, but was placed on injured reserve after suffering an injury in Week 4. He was released by the Lions in 2019 and signed with the San Francisco 49ers.
Professional Career
Tabor has been a major contributor to the 49ers defense since joining the team. He appeared in 14 games in 2019 and recorded three interceptions and 37 tackles. He was part of the 49ers defense that allowed the fewest points in the NFL in 2019.
